Slightly overcast with some high level cloud and a light southerly breeze.
Brean Down: Quiet at the down as expected 2 Wheatear, 20 House Martin, 20 Swallow, 10 Siskin, 15 Stonechat. Asmall influx of Red Admirals and dragonflies noted during the morning and a Wall Brown on the wing.
Moth news: A Palpita vitrealis caught by D.Agassiz over night. Sallow, L-album Wainscot, Large Wainscot in my garden trap all new for year. The Clifden Nonpareil was caught at Curry Rivel on 21st Sept.
Thanks for the migrant news! that is great. It's looking to warm up again with increasing Southerely winds so we could see some more, fingers crossed.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's been a long wait. Was pleased with my first ever trapping of Convolvulus Hawk-moth last night. Thought it was a bat when I first saw it and then it crash landed on the white sheet!
